On March 26, 2005 the Alpha Zeta chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/SeƱoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc was established at Virginia Commonwealth University by Hermana Jennifer Villalobos-Peyton. She saw a need for an organization to empower and uplift latinos in the community as well as provide a voice and sisterhood for Latinas on the campus. Since it's founding, Alpha Zeta is proud to have participated in numerous community service programs that uphold the goals and ideals of the organization.
